When you sign up for a camp in Trentino, Italy, here’s what to expect:
While the format is flexible, our days usually begin around 8 a.m. with a huge continental breakfast before departing on bikes around 9 a.m. from our hotel base camp.
We ride an average of 50 miles, through varied terrain depending on the group’s goal. This region boasts Italy’s most stunning scenery and epic climbs for cyclists including many peaks made famous by Giro d’Italia.
Midday we will stop for lunch at a local trattoria or cycling café along the route. Mid-to-late afternoon, we return to base camp.
Afternoons and rest days offer many choices for off-bike time – as well as for your non-cycling companions. From enjoying the sauna and steam room in the hotel’s world-class spa to relaxing by the pool, and site-seeing in nearby towns and villages, our camp’s position is perfect for all interests.
For those with any juice remaining, there are even dozens of epic hikes right outside the door.
In the evenings, we join together to experience Italy’s best regional cuisine. From homemade pastas and gnocchi to cheese and prosciutto, this region has it all. Some evenings we will enjoy dinner in the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, others we will go out to experience the fine offerings of nearby villages. Evenings often include organized wine or grappa tastings, live music, dancing, and for those night owls among us, a visit to local waterholes.
Cycling may be our focus during the day, but we guarantee as many authentically Italian experiences off the bike as on. Each day we will be living la dolce vita like it is our job.
